“Not all things that look like skin tags are, in fact, skin tags, so I definitely do not recommend trying to treat and remove these at home,” Marchbein tells Allure. Scissors and blades should be sterilized before and after use. A doctor may recommend cutting away the growth with a sharp blade or scissors.
